iCryptograms · Cryptoquip Decoder
Paste a cryptoquote and watch it crack. Lock the letters you're sure of, clear the ones you aren't, and the rest re-solves around them.

A Cryptoquip ends in a pun. That is the whole point of the form, and it is precisely what defeats the ordinary solving instinct: you cannot guess the final word from context, because the final word is engineered to be the one context does not predict. Human solvers stall on the punchline. The solver does not care — it never guesses from meaning, only from letter patterns and word frequency.
Mechanically there is no difference. The Cryptoquip uses the same simple letter-substitution cipher as any cryptogram or cryptoquote: each letter is consistently replaced by another. So the same engine cracks all three, and the same seven tactics apply if you would rather solve it yourself.
